Hard to see how a movie looking like this cannot be a Noir. No one has ever mistakenly labelled Brief Encounter as a Film Noir but, even though it is very well mannered British and polite throughout, the cinematography of Robert Krasker (Odd Man Out, Third Man) gives it something we can all recognize.
