Something Sacred

              I had the overpowering urge to destroy something sacred, to burn the city to the ground. So i ran. I took 80 West through Ohio, Indiana and finally Illinois until i arrived in the Windy City. When i stepped into that wilderness of steel and blacktop, i felt a sickness deep in the pit of my stomach ; thankfully it took the ache from my soul.

Drinks with Death

            The storm was raging across the desert that night. All the barflies, tourists and wanderers sought shelter inside a little bar off Route 26. Rain whipped violently against the siding, and only a very few attempted to brave the weather and ride out that night.

Long Road Home

          Steering with my elbows, i took my cigarettes out and lit one, placing my hands on the wheel before i went off the road. Eventually i could stand the radio no longer and shut it off, locking myself in a steel box with my thoughts. I could hear the wheels hammering the road with a new found importance, hurtling toward the end of my journey.
