  2. Animal Kingdom is great. I didn't jive so much on it on the first viewing, but having seen it a second time, I think it's easily one of the best Australian crime films made in the last few years.

    Noise is a very different kettle of fish, a strange little neo noir but I liked it a lot. Well worth having a look at.

  3. The Aura is masterful, studied, yet highly original neo-noir, hands down. The Missing Person is probably a little too studied, too self-consciously noirish, but still very much worth seeing. I urge you to check out Headless Woman, but this film, to its credit, is something altogether different. Lucrecia Martel is for me one of the finest younger directors currently working.   4. if u havent check it out, u should watch the secret in her eyes ( idk if thats the right traduction) and Carancho. Both are argentinian films, and both are great!
