Often referred to as the most cold blooded Noir hero of them all Parker has become an icon to Hardboiled afficionados. First book in the series 'The Hunter' became the innovative 'Point Blank' with Lee Marvin in the lead role.( Remade as Payback by Mel Gibson in poorer fashion). Robert Duvall appeared in a screen version of 'The Outfit' which wasn't bad.
