The most critically acclaimed of former Stand-up comedian Kitano's movies 'Hana Bi' (Fireworks) i didn't seem to enjoy at all in comparison to his best four previous ones. Portrayal of the Japanese criminal underworld in which characters as typically Hardboiled as a corrupt detective are acted by the director himself comes across realistically well.
