  1. Poor Dix. Haunted by memories of losing the family farm as a child and dreaming of re-capturing a pastoral fantasy world bankrolled with stolen diamonds. With all that sentiment, he delivered one of the most cold hearted lines in noir history: "why don't you quit crying and get me some bourbon."
