Another Nighthawk

The viewers of Nighthawks become another nighthawk themselves. New York streets are filled with bright fluorescent lights at night, but it is dark. The loneliness of the New York on Greenwich Avenue where two streets meet. The people in the painting appear lost in their own weariness and private concerns. The disconnection to their reality perhaps the period of the nation's wartime era.
