Tarantino's 1992 debut movie and still his best to date is a bloody reworking of the Heist/Caper storyline that has provided so many of Noir's masterpieces over the years. He uses a number of brilliant low budget ideas and a disjointed timeline to make the eight-man jewellery robbery unpredictable.

A game changer in so many ways. Dialogue so sharp it still stings today, plus it has a lot more heart than a lot of the independent crime films that followed in its wake. Tarantino was never this tight again and certainly never as good, although Pulp Fiction came bloody close.
