New Hardboiled/Noir

                                  These books are worth looking for when they come out later in the year. Both written by veteran authors and set against the alternative backgrounds of New York and Phoenix. The Block novel is another phase in life of Matt Scudder.

Gun Crazy- Joseph H Lewis

                                            From the director who also made Big Combo. John Dall in one of the lead roles also featured in Hitchcock's 'Rope'. A cult favourite with lots of great images but which doesn't sneak into my Noir top ten as it does with many other Noir purists.

        Charlotte Rampling is certainly one of the most underrated actresses in the Noir genre over the years.
